Hailing from Donald Street in Brunswick, James and Peter Isaacs are the brotherly duo Donald’s House. Taking influence from Paradise Garage style disco, early 90s house, Italo and anything with a DMX drumkit, their take on dance music is as refreshing as it is familiar.
You’ll often hear M1 solos, chords and stabs, juxtaposed against Phil Collins styled stadium drums, and groovy basslines that just beg your body to move. Much like their productions, their sets are centred around music that’s heart is firmly locked in the 80s.
So far, they’ve had two EP releases with Nick Höppner’s label, touch From A Distance, alongside single outputs on VA’s through Permanent Vacation and CC:DISCO!’s ‘First Light’ compilation series. And thanks to lockdown, the pair have an abundance of music due to come out in the near future.
Having moved dancefloors around Australia and Europe at the likes of Panorama Bar, Plastic People and PAL, the duos sets are just as eclectic. Here they duck and weave through drum machine disco, groove orientated EBM, afro and Italo records, while also paying homage to their peers with more traditional house and techno.
